Single Session Therapy
I offer Single Session Therapy (SST) to some clients. SST is about helping you to explore all of the current resources available to you to resolve a specific issue or problem. This can often be useful when someone feels ‘stuck’, is facing a specific challenge in their life or finds themselves in difficult circumstances. There is no guarantee with SST that you will find a resolution to your issue within the session. However, it is a focused approach which aims to bring the client new insights to their problem. If you have SST this does not exclude you from having other therapy sessions at a later date. Sometimes clients identify that they need further therapy sessions as part of SST. This session is charged at £150 per session. It requires some prework from the client and the therapy session lasts for 2 hours with a short follow up. If you are interested in this type of therapy please contact me for a consultation.
Person-Centred & Experiential Therapy
I offer both long term and short term individual therapy sessions for clients. I have experience of working with clients for short term work through to therapeutic relationships which have lasted over years. The length of each individual sessions is always 50 minutes, however the length of time we work together is always guided by the client and the goals that they wish to achieve in therapy. Currently, I offer individual sessions online or via the telephone. Individual sessions are charged at £50 per session. (I do not currently offer face to face sessions but will update my website when I return to offering this type of session).
Therapy can be just as effective when delivered online. I have been working online for over 7 years. This way of conducting therapy is becoming more and more popular, particularly since the COVID19 pandemic. Online therapy can be especially useful if you:
-have mobility issues which restrict your access to face to face therapy;
-find it difficult to attend face-to-face counselling;
-live in an isolated area;
-travel away from home for work; or
-feel more comfortable with working online
If you are comfortable using online technology such as a webcam and microphone and have the necessary equipment (see below), then online therapy may be an appropriate way of accessing therapy. I also offer telephone based counselling. If you are unsure about which type of platform would be the most beneficial for you (i.e. face to face, online or telephone) then get in touch and we can discuss the different options.
Before our first session, I will provide you with details of how the process works. We will then establish contact online in order to confirm that the audio-visual quality is adequate and to agree a convenient date for our initial session.
Your privacy and confidentiality are paramount. It is important to make sure that you will not be disturbed for the duration of each session, and that you cannot be overheard.
You can pay for online sessions via PayPal or via online banking.
To work in this way, you will need access to a computer, a webcam and a broadband connection. You will also need video software such as Zoom (download for free from the Zoom website). If you would like to use a different platform then you can discuss this with me during your initial consultation.
